Pre-register
Whether you are a month, week or day away from the event you are visiting, always remember to pre-register on the show website, It will save you time when you arrive.
Set your objectives
Make sure you have a clear objective of what you want to get from your visit to the show. Make a note of these and cross them off as you hit your targets for the day.
Plan your route
If you have time before you get to the event put together a list of the must see exhibitors and would like to see exhibitors. Then when you get your hands on a floorplan, either before or when you first arrive, spend 10 minutes mapping out your route, this will save you time and stop you getting lost walking around the show.
Time is precious
What you think is a long time before you get to a show, can become not enough very quickly. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time at the show, so you don’t run out of time to speak to the must see exhibitors and attend vital conference sessions.
Keep an open mind
Yes it will help to have a plan and yes your time is precious so try and stick to it as much as possible. However don’t forget to keep some time to having a look at the unknown. There will be plenty of exhibitors that you will have never heard of before and now is the perfect time to find out if you need to.
